I saw Moneyball last night, and this evening I watched Any Given Sunday. I’ve been going through a bit of a rough patch recently and apparantly I’m turning to sport-as-metaphor movies for inspiration.
It is appropriate, I suppose, since this weekend I participated in a couple of athletic activities to raise money for some excellent causes. On Saturday I walked 5k with my parents in memory of my grandmother for the Capital Region Walk to End Alzheimer’s and today I ran my first 5k in Nick’s Run to Be Healed to support pediatric blood cancer patients. These are both great organizations and if you feel moved to support them too, you can do so here (Alzheimer’s Association) and here (Nick’s Fight to Be Healed).
Now I am tired, but ready for the coming week to start looking for the inches around me. (You have to watch the above clip for that to make sense)
